  1. how are the teams picked, also does how your team fair in the season play a role in determining where you are placed
my sons team finished 3-7 yet he recorded over 100 tackles and was honorable mention. Last year they were 9-1 he recorded 45 tackles and was honorable mention he also had 26 tackles in last game against bellevue this year

  2. Yes, the better the team the better the chance of a player getting all-district and all-Ohio recognition. If there are players from a 3-7 team or a 9-1 team with equal stats…just about always the kid from the 9 win team will get a high honor.

  3. I think this is a bunch of bull crap how a person who leads there team the whole year and just because politices do this and not the coaches who should be doing this!!!!!

  4. I don’t feel coaches would do any better. A lot of you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. But stats aren’t the end all. If someone has 100+ tackles on a losing team it might be more the result of his team being on defense longer than let’s say a 9 – 1 team. I do stats and I know in years past our starters were pulled after one possession in second half and a couple of times at half. In addition what if the tackles were made by linebackers: one with 100 tackles 6 yards downfield and the other with 60 tackles 3 yards down field. There are just too many variables to really make this fair. Maybe it should be done just like golf. To be all-state have to play in regionals or beyond. To be all district have to make playoffs.

  5. disagree with kids being honored by how well their team does especially when you have high school teams with st. whoever in fron of their name that recruit
