From gyms around Northwest Ohio, mats across the state and the pool in Canton we have a big day of local sports around the region today and we’ll bring you the latest on all of the action today here at The Courier.

The University of Findlay men and women’s teams travel to Malone University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
Courier writer Brian Lester will cover all the action today from Canton.
There are girls sectional tournament championship games throughout Northwest Ohio tonight.
Mark Heiman will be at Otsego as Findlay High School takes on Lima Senior for a Division I sectional crown.
Our sister paper, The Fostoria Review Times will provide coverage of tonight’s Division III doubleheader at Bowling Green featuring Elmwood and Swanton and Van Buren and Liberty-Benton.
In Division IV, Courier writer Ted Radick will cover the sectional final doubleheader at Tiffin Columbian which will match New Riegel and Carey and Arcadia and Tiffin Calvert.
Reporter Dave Hanneman will be at Ottawa-Glandorf as Leipsic takes on Holgate and Patrick Henry plays Ayersville.
The Courier’s Nathan Inniger will be at Findlay High School where Riverdale will play Arlington and North Baltimore will take on McComb.
In wrestling, Jamie Baker will be at Bowling Green State University’s Stroh Center for today’s Division III Northwest District tournament.
Findlay High School’s swimmers will be competing in the Division I state finals in Canton beginning at 4 p.m.

BOWLING GREEN — Rachel Myers scored her 1,000th career point as she led Liberty-Benton to a big 56-19 win over Van Buren Saturday night in a Division III sectional final girls basketball game at Bowling Green.
The Eagles (18-5) will play Woodmore (13-9) Thursday in the Division III district semifinal at Toledo Central Catholic’s Sullivan Center.
Myers, who now has 1,001 points for her career, scored a game-high 18 points, recorded five assists and five steals for the Eagles.
Katie Simon added 12 points. Lauren Kotey contributed eight points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.
Nicole Miller was the leading scorer for the Black Knights with seven points.

BOWLING GREEN — Brittany Gross’ double-double catapulted Elmwood past Swanton 48-40 Saturday night in a Division III sectional girls basketball final at Bowling Green.
The Royals (20-3) will play Genoa (8-13) on Thursday at Toledo Central Catholic’s Sullivan Center in the Division III district semifinals.
Gross scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Royals. Kristen Curtis added 12 points.
Maicie Wheeler scored eight points for the Bulldogs (13-11). Courtney Eitniear netted six points.

KENTON — Ada’s defense put the clamps on Hardin Northern in a 50-18 victory Saturday night in a Division IV sectional final girls basketball game at Kenton.
The Bulldogs (15-9) will play Minister (16-7) Thursday in the Division IV district semifinals at St. Marys Memorial.
The Bulldogs had an early 13-0 lead in the first quarter as the defense allowed just two points for a 35-2 lead at the half.
Morgan Rouch led the Bulldogs with 10 points. Taylor Willeke and Alexis Guagenti both added eight points.
Kylee Hooker led the Polar Bears (2-21) with 10 points. Chelsey DeLong added six points.

BLUFFTON — Ottoville’s quick start set the tone as the Big Green defeated Columbus Grove 69-33 Saturday night in a Division IV girls basketball sectional final at Bluffton Saturday night.
The Big Green (23-0) will play Lincolnview (17-5) on Thursday in the Division IV district semifinals at Lima Senior.
Ottoville jumped out to an early 25-5 lead in the first quarter and enjoyed a 31-10 advantage at the half.
Abby Siefker scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Big Green. Rachel Turnwald and Taylor Mangas (4 steals) both added 14 points. Rachel Beining added 12 points.
Sydney McCluer scored eight points and recorded two assists for the Bulldogs (5-18). Sammi Stechschulte added five points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

ATTICA — Ontario held on for a 51-49 upset win against Upper Sandusky despite a big effort from standout Taylor Graboski Saturday night in a Division III sectional girls basketball final Saturday night.
The Warriors (13-10) will play Huron (18-5) Thursday in the Division III district semifinals as Buckeye Central.
The first half made the difference the Warriors who outscored the Rams (18-4) 24-21 as the both teams played just about even in the second half.
Maribeth Tagg and Kim Barnhill both scored a team-high 13 points for the Warriors.
Graboski recorded a double-double with a game-high 20 points and 26 rebounds for the Rams, who end their season on a two game losing streak.

With the win, Kalida (16-7) advances to take on Convoy Crestview (21-2) Thursday in the Division IV district semifinals at Lima Senior.

LIMA — Ottawa-Glandorf moved along the tournament trail Saturday night with a 48-30 whipping of Lima Central Catholic in a Division III girls basketball sectional final at Lima Bath.
The Titans (15-8) will now play Delta (17-7) in the Division III district semifinals at Kalida Thursday at 6:15 p.m.

ALLEN EAST 47
BLUFFTON 37
LIMA — Bluffton closed the season with a 12-12 record as the Pirates fell to Allen East 47-37 in a Division IV sectional girls basketball final at Lima Bath.
Allen East (13-8) will play Archbold in the 8 p.m. game at the Division III district semifinals at Kalida on Thursday.
