CANTON — Senior Dietrich Hinesman had the best finish Saturday for the Findlay High swim teams at the OHSAA state championships at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Hinesman raced to fifth place in the 100-yard freestyle, recording a 46.6-second effort.
He was also 12th in the “B” 50 free (21.39) and joined Kyle and Justin Hopkins and Tucker Stocker in finishing 14th in the “B” 400 free relay (3:12.92).
Kyle Hopkins placed 12th in the “B” 100 backstroke (52.84) and in the “B” 200 individual medley (1:56.18).
All four of Findlay swimmers earned All-Ohio honors.
The Trojans ended up with a top 20 finish in the Division I boys team standings as they tied for 20th with Youngstown Boardman with 35 points.
Cincinnati St. Xavier won the boys team championship with a 270-1871/2 margin over Upper Arlington.
Findlay’s girls team ended up 38th overall with 11 points as Cincinnati Ursuline won the team championship with a 234-215 margin over Upper Arlington.
The Trojans’ Bethany Glick and Kyah Fleckner earned All-Ohio honors for the Trojans on Thursday in the girls diving competition.
