2013-14 UF Game Notes

Oilers are 8-8 overall and 5-7 in the GLIAC. UF has won 25 of its last 35 games dating back to last season.

Oilers are averaging 71.1 points per game and allowing 69.8. Have scored 70 or more seven times, including 80-plus four times, and have allowed 70 or more nine times. Oilers shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from beyond the arc. Opponents shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from 3-point range.

Oilers have forced 360 turnovers (22.5) and have turned the ball over 233 times (14.6).

Lacey Kessler has been perfect from the field twice this season and has scored 18 points twice this year. She has led or tied for team lead in scoring six times. She is shooting 43.7 percent from the field and  is 59-of-78 from the line. Oilers are shooting 71.6 percent from the line as a team.

Margaret Wuebker has led the Oilers in scoring in the last three games and  five times in the last six games. Has led or tied for team lead in scoring eight times this season. She is shooting 53.8 percent from the field. Scored career-high 21 against Northern Michigan and 18 against Wayne State and 18 against Lake Superior State.

Karli Bonar has led Oilers in scoring once, scoring 20 against Mercyhurst.

Karli Bonar leads Oilers in 3-pointers with 35. Nikki Gunning has 19, Ciara Geiger 18, Karli Beasley 14, Ashley Andrews 10, Kaleigh Kenny 9 and Lacey Kessler 6.

Ciara Geiger has 1,126 points in her career, scoring 995 in first two seasons at Urbana. Scored 27 in loss to Ohio Dominican.

Worth Noting: Oilers have won two of last three South Division titles. UF advanced to NCAA tournamant for the first time in school history in 2010, losing 68-57 to Michigan Tech in semifinal round. First tourney win came against Wisconsin-Parkside in a 54-51 win. Lost to Wayne State in tourney in 2013 and is 1-2 in NCAA tournament play.

Oilers have played in GLIAC tournament five times, including in 2013 when they finished as the runner-up after 68-49 loss to Ashland in GLIAC tourney title game. They are 3-5 in the GLIAC tourney, ending three-game losing streak with 69-57 win over Saginaw Valley State and have played in the semifinals twice and title game once. UF has had seven winning seasons since 2001-02, including four consecutive winning campaigns.
