Prep Wrestling: Sexton pin leads Van Buren to OWL crown

TOLEDO — It all came down to the broad shoulders of Van Buren junior heavyweight Isaac Sexton Saturday as he scored a pin in the finals of the 285-pound weight class to lift the Black Knights past Gibsonburg to win the Ohio Wrestling League championship Saturday at Toledo Christian.
Sexton’s pin against McComb’s Matt Cataline in 2:36 in the finals provided the points the Black Knights needed to secure the school’s first league wrestling championship as they outscored Gibsonburg 150-144 for first place.
Chance Sonnenberg also earned another OWL crown for the Black Knights by pinning Toledo Christian’s James Dobson in 1:23 in the 170-pound finals.
