Arlington wins big at Kenton Sectional

KENTON — After letting Hardin Northern hang around in the first quarter, Arlington outscored the Polar Bears 58-19 over the final three periods during a 71-28 win Wednesday in the Division IV sectional semifinals at Kenton.
The Red Devils (17-4) will face Lima Perry (19-4) at 8 p.m. Friday at Kenton in the sectional finals.
Jordan Freed hit three 3-pointers and led 11 Arlington players with 15 points. Logan Blunk added 12 points and Logan Speyer and Aaron Starr pulled down five rebounds apiece for Arlington, which outrebounded the Polar Bears 31-14.
Jacob Gossard scored 23 of Hardin Northern’s 28 points, including all of his team’s points through three quarters. It was until the fourth quarter when Rylie Drumm hit a pair of free throws and Kyle Lamb knocked down a free throw and a field goal, that another player had scored for the Polar Bears (1-22).
Arlington hit 52 percent (35 of 67) of its field goal attempts and held Hardin Northern to 14 of 52 (29 percent) shooting from the field.

PEMBERVILLE — Cardinal Stritch used a 21-11 run in the third quarter to pull away from North Baltimore en route to a 57-40 win in the sectional semifinal round of the Division IV district playoffs at Eastwood High School.
With Stritch (9-13) leading 26-22 at halftime, Austin Adams scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the decisive third period to fuel the Cardinals’ run.
Jacob Frost scored 13 points to lead North Baltimore (10-13).
Cardinal Stritch will play Ottawa Hills (19-1) at 6:15 p.m. at Eastwood in the sectional finals.
