Prep Baseball: Durliat helps Arlington clip Riverdale

ARLINGTON — Zachary Durliat singled twice, drove in two runs and picked up the win on the mound as Arlington topped Riverdale 10-1 in a nonconference baseball game on Tuesday.
The Falcons led 1-0 before the Red Devils plated six in the fourth inning.
Nick Affholder hit a triple, a single and drove in two runs, while Jordan Freed and Logan Speyer each added two singles and an RBI for Arlington (2-2).
Tristan Davis recorded a pair of singles for Riverdale (0-3).

BASCOM — Brandon Bell drove in four runs with a pair of two-run singles, Ross Adolph doubled, tripled and scored three times and Van Buren turned nine walks and four Hopewell-Loudon errors into a ton of offensive opportunities in Tuesday’s 15-3 nonleague win over the Chieftains.
Payten Whitticar added a pair of singles as Van Buren improved to 3-1 on the young season and handed Hopewell-Loudon (3-1) its first loss. Jameson Jacobs got the win, allowing one earned run on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Alex Brock took the loss, giving up eight runs, seven of them earned, in 11/3 inning.

PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa jumped to a quick 5-0 lead and Jacob Basinger limited Fort Jennings to two hits over five innings as the unbeaten Rockets (3-0) opened Putnam County League play with a 5-2 win over Fort Jennings.
Basinger also singled in two runs and Alex Osborn and Dustin Rieman doubled for P-G. Osborn also pitched a scoreless two innings to get the save.

Jake Wise doubled and Jacob Firsdon and Tyler Stone both singled for the Royals, who scored five runs on just three hits.
Michael Kirian had a pair of singles and a double for the Blue Jackets (1-3).

ADA — McComb took advantage of Ada mistakes and scored its runs in bunches en route to a 14-1 nonconference victory on Tuesday.
The Panthers (1-1) mustered only five hits, but scored six runs in the third inning and added seven in the sixth frame to blow the game open.
Mitch Schroeder went 3 for 4 and stole three bases to lead McComb.
Cory Kellum drove in the lone run for the Bulldogs (1-1).

NORTH BALTIMORE — Josh Petersen homered, doubled and drove in three runs as Patrick Henry dropped North Baltimore 11-3 in nonleague play on Tuesday.
Logan Ziegler tossed five innings and gave up two earned runs on eight hits to pick up the victory.
Joe Nickels singled four times and drove in two runs and Kyle Seemann added two singles and an RBI for the Patriots (2-1).
North Baltimore (1-2) was led by Sean Watson’s double and two RBIs, while Zach Stewart recorded two singles and an RBI.

GLANDORF — Tanner Schimmoeller settled down after a shaky start and his Ottawa-Glandorf teammates gave him the lead with a three-run rally in the fifth inning as the Titans opened Western Buckeye League play with a 6-3 win over St. Marys Memorial.
Isaac Fitzgerald’s RBI double helped stake St. Marys to a 3-0 lead after three innings. Schimmoeller blanked the Roughriders the rest of the way, though, allowing five total hits, just one earned run and striking out seven in handing St. Marys (4-1, 0-1 WBL) its first loss of the season.
Tyler Zender and Ben Dietering rapped RBI doubles as O-G (2-1, 1-0) rallied for two runs in the fourth inning, then went ahead with a three-run rally in the fifth.

OTTOVILLE — Joshua Verhoff doubled twice, singled, drove in three runs and earned the victory on the mound for Columbus Grove in a 6-4 Putnam County League win against Ottoville on Tuesday.
Verhoff gave up three earned runs on five hits, while striking out 10 and walking one in 41/3 innings for the Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0 PCL).
Joel Beining had a pair of singles and two RBIs, Luke Schimmoeller added two singles and an RBI and Brandon Boecker singled and drove in a run for the Big Green (0-3, 0-2).

MILLER CITY— Jordan Jettinghoff had two of Delphos Jefferson’s three hits, including a third-inning triple that accounted for the only run of the game in the Wildcats’ 1-0 nonleague baseball win over Miller City.
Delphos Jefferson improved to 3-2 with the win. The loss was Miller City’s first in three games.

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green scored a single run in each of the first three innings, then got to Findlay starter Connor Curlis for five runs in the bottom of the fourth in posting a 10-3 nonleague win over the Trojans on Tuesday at Carter Field.
Clark Mayberry’s two-run doubled sparked the fourth-inning rally that turned Bowling Green’s 3-2 edge into a commanding 8-2 lead. Ricky Riggs added two hits for the Bobcats.
Ryan Golden and Michael Roche had two hits each for Findlay. One of Golden’s hits was a clutch two-out, two-run single that tied the game 2-2 in the top of the third inning.
Findlay (0-2) will open Three Rivers Athletic Conference play today at Lima Senior.
