Arcadia built a 5-3 lead through four innings, then broke loose for five runs in the sixth in rolling up a 13-3 win over Liberty-Benton in Tuesday’s Blanchard Valley Conference softball opener.
Courtney Cramer (2B, 2-1B, RBI), Alisha Baird (2-2B, 1B 2 RBI) and Ashley Baird (2-1B, 2B, 3 RBI) had three hits each and combined for eight stolen bases. Maddie Mock drove in three runs and Abbie Dauterman two. Lizzie Coward added a double and a single as Arcadia pounded out 14 hits, six of them for extra bases.
Ashley Baird also limited L-B to three hits as she raised her record, and Arcadia’s, to 3-0.
Samantha Johnson and Shaye Rodesky had RBI singles for Liberty-Benton (0-2, 0-1 BVC).

BASCOM — Van Buren scored all of its run in the final four innings to pull away from Hopewell-Loudon for an 11-4 victory in a nonconference game.
Erin Neall singled twice and drove in three runs, Brylie Rampe added a single and three RBIs and Olivia Sattler recorded a single and an RBI for the Black Knights (3-1).
Shelbi Sauber hit a pair of singles for Hopewell-Loudon (1-3).

Taylor Kirian allowed one earned run on six hits in seven innings, while adding two singles and an RBI in improving her record and the Blue Jackets’ to 4-0.

Hope Schroeder (1-0) allowed three earned runs on five hits in seven innings to earn the victory in the circle, while also adding a single and three RBIs at the plate.
Kyrah Yinger and Micah Stechschulte each contributed a single, a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs (1-0).

Rachel Nye added a home run, two singles and three RBIs and Kristin Bostelman contributed five singles and drove in two runs for the Patriots (3-0).
Hanna Brian singled four times and drove in a run, Rachel Peters recorded two singles and two RBIs, while Haleigh Fleck and Kelcie Bean added a pair of singles a piece for North Baltimore (1-2).

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg answered Findlay’s small rally with two bigger ones in chalking up an 8-3 nonleague softball win over the Trojans on Tuesday.
Freshman catcher Mickey Schmitz was 1-for-1 at the plate with two walks and drove in a run for Findlay, which jumped on top 2-0 in the top of the second inning. Perrysburg scored five times in the bottom of the third, though, and added three runs in the fifth.
Perrysburg pitcher Adrianne Ruen limited Findlay (0-3) to three hits. Tori Ziegler had two hits and drove in a run for the Yellow Jackets.
