BVC Baseball Roundup: Schey, Leipsic blank Vanlue

LEIPSIC — Dylan Schey fired a four-hit shut out to pitch Leipsic to an 8-0 Blanchard Valley Conference baseball win over Vanlue on Wednesday.
Leipsic broke open a tight 1-0 game by pushing across six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Gavin Cupp singled twice driving in a pair of runs. Justin Ellerbrock and Pierce Henry also had two singles for the Vikings (3-5 overall, 1-0 BVC).
Austin Smith had two singles for Vanlue (1-5, 0-3).

McCOMB — Clay Grubb allowed just one run on four hits and fanned 11 batters as McComb stopped Arlington 6-1 in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.
Grubb helped his own cause with a pair of singles and an RBI as McComb jumped on Arlington starter Tyler Richard for three runs in each of the first two innings.
Taylor Reardon added an RBI single sand Clay Dysert added a pair of RBIs for the Panthers (6-1 overall, 3-0 BVC).
Jordan Freed had an RBI single to lead the Red Devils (5-3, 2-1 BVC).

ARCADIA — Van Buren’s Ross Adolph drilled three triples, a single, a drove in three runs to lead Van Buren past Arcadia 15-5 in six innings in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday.
The Black Knights (5-2, 2-0 BVC) scored eight runs in the third inning.
Isaac Sexton ripped two singles, scored two runs and had an RBI, and Chance Sonnenberg tripled and drove in two runs.
A.J. Lentz hit two singles and had an RBI for Arcadia, and Bobba Vera singled and drove in two runs. The Redskins (1-3, 0-2 BVC) had five errors.

DOLA — Pandora-Gilboa’s top four batters collected eight hits and drove in five runs to power the Rockets to a 10-1 win over Hardin Northern in Blanchard Valley Conference baseball action on Wednesday.
Lead-off batter Brian Schneck and No. 2 man Dustin Rieman had two hits each.
Reed Hovest had three hits and drove in two runs and clean-up hitter Jacob Basinger doubled and drove in three runs. Jared Tousley, batting in the No. 6 spot for P-G (4-2, 1-1 BVC), also plated three runs with a single and a double.
Hardin Northern got solid production from the top of its lineup as well with Jacob Gossard (1B, 2B), Kyle Lamb (3-1B), Brett Roby (1B, RBI) and Camron Deckling (2-1) collecting eight of the Polar Bears’ 10 hits.
