Seven area athletes sign letters of intent

Five Findlay High School senior athletes signed letters of intent this week with NCAA Division I and II and NAIA universities around the region.
Adam Twining made his commitment official to join the University of Findlay men’s basketball program. A four-year letterwinner and special mention all-Ohio selection, Twining ranked third in school history in most games played (85). He is also ranked in the top 25 all-time for the Trojans in rebounding (271) and scoring at (705).
Diver Bethany Glick signed to compete for Division I Youngstown State University. A four-time all-Ohioan, Glick holds all FHS diving records and was the 2014 Three Rivers Athletic Conference Diver of the Year.
Soccer player Clayton Hildebrand and volleyball player Ciara Ralston will sign with Division II Ohio Dominican University.
A three-year letter winner and the Division I District 8 Player of the Year, Ralston holds school records for most kills in a game (27) and season (387) and is a three-time academic all-Ohio selection.
Hildebrand, a two-year starter at goalkeeper, recorded 14 shutouts the past two seasons for the Trojans with a total of 179 saves.
Two-year boys basketball letterwinner, Braden Miller will play basketball for NAIA Taylor University. He was an honorable mention all-TRAC selection last season for the Trojans.
Two other area athletes have signed or will sign with schools this week.
• Mohawk senior three-sport standout Kasey Adelsperger has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Tiffin University.
Adelsperger was a third-team all-Ohio and first-team all-Midland Athletic League and District 6 selection. The outside hitter became only the second player in Mohawk history to reach the 1,000 kill plateau finishing with 1,019 for her career. She also finished second all-time in blocks (232), third in aces (102), fifth in kills (766), and fifth in hitting percentage (.262).
• Columbus Grove’s Will Vorhees will sign a letter of intent today to play basketball for NCAA Division II Notre Dame College.
The 6-foot-7 standout was a first-team all-Northwest Conference, second-team all-district and honorable mention all-Ohio pick last season after averaging 17.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
