Findlay High roundup: Tennis team hammers Lima Senior

Findlay High School’s tennis team didn’t lose a game in four of the five matches and lost just three games overall in beating Lima Senior 5-0 on Tuesday in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference matchup at the FHS Courts.
Findlay coach Sean Swisher shuffled his lineup a bit, but the Trojans, 8-2 overall, still rolled to their third TRAC win.
Max MacDonald, who usually plays No. 2 singles, jumped up to No. 1 and blanked Donte Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-0. Logan Sullivan did the same to Bobby Baker at No. 2, and Hyunchel Lee, playing No. 3, swept past Travis Tuttle 6-1, 6-2.
Both doubles matches were shutouts. Reid Teatsorth took a break from No. 1 singles, teaming with Adam Seitz at No. 1 doubles for a 6-0, 6-0 win over Brian Frueh and Kane Vastan. At No. 2 doubles, Steve Bowlin and Ryan Price blanked Drake Benton and Malcom Davis by the same 6-0, 6-0 score.
Findlay will host Anthony Wayne today, then visit TRAC power Toledo St. John’s on Thursday. The Trojans will face some of the top teams and individuals in the state on Saturday when they take part in the Lexington Invitational.

Baseball blanks TSF
Findlay High’s baseball team got a complete game pitching effort from Chandler Stillings and its most complete all-around game of the season when the Trojans knocked off Toledo St. Francis 4-0 on Tuesday in Three Rivers Athletic Conference play.
“Chandler was awesome, and we finally put it all together: offense, defense, clutch hitting,” said FHS coach Jeff Stutzman.
“I don’t know if we knew we had this in us. This shows we can do it. Now we just have to be consistent.”
Stillings, coming off a strong-but-no-decision outing against Toledo Start, earned his first win in three decisions. The sophomore lefthander allowed five hits, struck out six and walked one.
The Trojans almost ran themselves out of a couple of rallies. But clutch hits made the difference. The biggest came off the bat of Nolan Rodman, who belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Michael Roche had a two-out RBI single to put Findlay up 1-0 in the fourth. Roche scored Findlay’s final run in the sixth when St. Francis misplayed a long fly ball to right by pinch hitter Dakota Feay.
Findlay improved to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the league. St. Francis, which went 10-0 in regular-season TRAC games last season, 29-3 overall and reached the Division I regional finals, fell to 9-2 and suffered its first league loss.
