Prep Baseball Roundup: Findlay High is on a roll

Findlay’s Connor Curlis struck out 10 Oregon Clay batters while walking three in seven innings pitched, and the junior allowed an earned run on three hits as the Trojans slashed the Eagles 7-3 in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference baseball game on Wednesday at the Marathon Diamonds.
Findlay (10-6, 5-1 TRAC) extended its winning streak to six games, and the Trojans have won nine of its last 11 games.
Curlis ripped two singles and drove in two runs to lead Findlay, which scored two runs in the first and added four in the second.
Ryan Golden drove in two runs in the second after hitting a shot to Oregon Clay’s first baseman, who committed an error, and Curlis added an RBI-single later in the inning.

FREMONT — New Riegel’s Michael Kirian and Austin Mathias combined on a two-hitter in pitching the Blue Jackets to a 6-2 Midland Athletic League win over Fremont St. Joseph on Wednesday.
Kirian allowed both hits and struck out five in his five-inning stint on the mound. Mathias pitched two hitless innings of relief for the Blue Jackets, who got RBI doubles from Jake Dryfuse, Aaron Acree and Kirian in climbing to 8-7 overall, 3-1 in the league.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton’s Chris McClain allowed two unearned runs in five innings and helped himself out at the plate with a single and two RBIs as the Pirates knocked off Allen East 5-2 in Northwest Conference baseball action on Wednesday.
Bluffton scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead and held on to improve to 9-5 overall and 5-0 in the NWC. Brett Rumer doubled and drove in two runs and Trent Phillips singled and had an RBI for the Pirates.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky senior Sam Plott limited Buckeye Central to four hits and no earned runs and singled three times and drove in two runs of his own in leading the Rams to a 7-2 North Central Conference win over the Bucks.
Alex Kenner hit a solo home run, Ross Dible had two hits and Kollin Johnson and Tylor Pritchard had RBI singles for Upper Sandusky (9-7, 5-4 NCC).
The Rams took a 3-2 lead with a single run in the bottom of the fifth inning, then broke it open with a four-run rally in the sixth.

Matt Aumiller picked up the win and Al Hayes singled twice for Genoa (9-4 overall, 5-0 NBC).
Lance Smith, Noah Hammer and Kobey Bemis each singled twice as the Redmen (10-5, 2-2) outhit the Comets 10-6.
Chris Hampton took the loss.

Brandon Boecker, Alex Horstman and Joe Vanoss each singled twice and drove in a run as well for Ottoville (4-7), which scored five runs in the first, added one in each of the next three innings, and tacked on four more in the fifth.

Delphos Jefferson improved to 11-6, while Fort Jennings fell to 4-11. Mark Metzger hit three singles for the Musketeers, while Dylan Van Loo, Ryan Rau and Kyle Hellman combined for five hits and five RBIs.

Brock Boyer picked up the win for North Baltimore (5-10, 2-2 MAL), pitching all seven innings and allowing three earned runs on eight hits. Levi Newcomer added a single and a double at the plate for the Tigers.
