Sectional Softball Roundup: Rockets down Vikings, 3-2

LEIPSIC — Megan Maag struck out nine Leipsic batters Tuesday to lead Pandora-Gilboa past the Vikings 3-2 in a Division IV sectional semifinal at Leipsic.
Jenna Sigler hit a double for the Rockets (4-11), who advance to play Continental (6-9) at 5 p.m. Friday at Continental for a sectional title.
Alexis Escamilla and Chloe Kaufman each had two singles for Leipsic (4-16).

TOLEDO — Fostoria scored 12 runs on just four hits as the Redmen racked up a 12-0 Division II sectional softball win over Toledo Woodward on Tuesday.
With the win, Fostoria (6-15) advances to play top-seeded Eastwood Friday at 5 p.m. in a sectional final. Erica Moore and Breanna Biles both doubled and drove in two runs. Alexus Smith and Lexie Fretz each added singles for the Redmen.
Moore fanned nine batters and allowed just one hit in five innings of work to get the win.
Brittaney Walker singled for the Polar Bears (7-10).

Paulding rallied to knock off Liberty-Benton 9-6 in a Division III sectional softball semifinal contest at L-B.
Extra-base hits were the name of the game on Tuesday. Paulding’s Brooke Combs drove in three runs with a double and a triple, Abby Pease had two doubles, and Suzanne Reinhart, Jerika Bland and Kristen Schilt had a double each for the Panthers (5-12).
Katie Devore had two doubles and Mica Terrian had a pair of base hits for Liberty-Benton (8-13).
Paulding, the 12th seeded team in the district, will now face No. 1-seeded Fairview in Friday’s 5 p.m. sectional final.
