Prep Boys Golf: Kalida rolls to Hawthorne Hills title

LIMA — Allen East’s Parker Prey took home medalist honors with a 74, but Kalida’s consistency up and down the lineup paved the way as the Wildcats won the Allen East Hawthorne Hills golf tourney Wednesday to open the season.
Evan Recker, Zach Erhart and Jeff Knueve each shot 75 and Trent Siebeneck fired a 78 as Kalida carded a team score of 303, 14 shots better than Anthony Wayne. Lima Shawnee (327), and Defiance and Clyde (337) rounded out the top five of the 14-team tournament.
Van Buren (349) was sixth, Patrick Henry (365) ninth and Findlay (382) 11th.
Nick Overmeyer led the Black Knights with an 82. Aaron Tietje fired an 80 for Patrick Henry, and Logan Bern carded Findlay’s best round with an 88.
