Boys Soccer Roundup: Tatarkov leads Bluffton past Ada, 8-0

BLUFFTON — Sophomore Phillip Tatarkov found the net three times Thursday as Bluffton blasted Ada 8-0 in a nonconference boys soccer match.
Cole Harlow recorded a pair of goals and added two assists, while Adam Wannamacher tallied a goal and an assist for the Pirates (1-1-2).
Gianfranco Colombo and Douglas Nester each scored a goal and Eli Bourassa contributed an assist for Bluffton, who outshot Ada 27-2.
Joseph Schriner was credited with one save for the Pirates, while Ace Gamble made 15 saves for the Bulldogs (0-4).

UPPER SANDUSKY — Defense was the order of the day Thursday as Van Buren and Upper Sandusky played to a scoreless tie in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association boys game.
Nathan Maynard (three saves) had the shutout for Van Buren (2-1-1, 0-0-1 NCOSA) while Clay Musgrave had seven saves for Upper Sandusky (4-0-1, 1-0-1 NCOSA).
JUNIOR VARSITY: Van Buren, 2-0.

Jeremy Lerma’s goal with 16 minutes left in the game proved to be the game winner for Archbold as the Blue Streaks edged Liberty-Benton 2-1 in a nonconference boys soccer match on Thursday.
Austin Patrick’s goal for Liberty-Benton (0-2-1) early in the second half tied the game at one. Logan Whitaker was credited with the assist.
Zach Fisher also scored for Archbold (2-1-1).

OTTAWA — Brad Croy and Tory Schroeder each netted two goals for Ottawa-Glandorf’s boys soccer team, and the Titans opened up Western Buckeye League play with a dominating 8-1 win over Van Wert on Thursday.
Mitch Niese, Nick Schroeder, Brandon Hempfling and Jordan Verhoff also scored for Ottawa-Glandorf (2-0, 1-0 WBL). The Titans outshot Van Wert 13-4.
Joe Lisa had the lone goal for Van Wert (0-3-1, 0-1 WBL).

FORT JENNINGS — Brent Hovest made three saves for Kalida and Ryan Koester stopped five shots for Fort Jennings as the teams played to a 0-0 tie in the Putnam County League opener for both schools.
The Wildcats (2-0-1, 0-0-1 PCL) had the advantage in shots on goal with seven, while the Musketeers (1-2-1, 0-0-1 PCL) finished with four.
