KENTON 61
KENTON — One can only wonder how many points quarterbacks Konnor Baker and Maty Mauk would have put up on the football field in a battle of their Hardin County schools.
Fans got to witness a show on the hardwood, though, as Baker led Ada to a 64-61 win over Kenton and Mauk Saturday night in a nonconference battle.
Baker, who scored a game-high 30 points, converted nine field goals and was 10 of 11 from the free throw line for the Bulldogs (13-3), who had to hold tough after a third quarter surge by the Wildcats (5-11).
Mauk, on the other hand, connected on six 3-pointers and had 25 points for Kenton, which trailed 40-26 by halftime but cut the lead to 57-55 going into the final period.
Brice Fackler added 14 points and Sean Kelley had 10 to help out the Wildcats.
Bobby Steiner chipped in with 11 for the Ada.
