Conferences are disbanding or adding teams, creating bigger and bigger conferences so they can have a conference championship. There are really only going to be about 4 or 5 significant conferences. How about this...
Take 32 of the top programs in the country Divide into 8 regional divisions Play a 12 game regular season The top team from each division makes the playoffs Top four teams get first round byes The maximum number of games by any team would be 15
Good because Teams in the division would play each other home and home. You'd have OSU / Michigan twice per year Take out the 4-5 cupcake wins most teams get. Much more competitive week in and out. You'd get a true national champion each year.
